5. 4. 5 [CITING PERIODICAL PRINT PUBLICATIONS]
An Article in a Newspaper (MLA 141-142)

1. Give the name as it appears on the masthead but omit any 
   introductory article:

   example: New York Times (underlined), not The New York Times 

2. Give the complete date--day, month, and year.
3. Abbreviate the names of all months except May, June, 
    and July [see 6.2].
4. Do not give the volume and issue numbers even if they 
    are listed.
5. If an edition is named on the masthead, add a comma after
   the date and specify the edition ("natl. ed.," late ed." )
6. Follow the the edition--or date if there is no edition--
   with a colon and the page number or numbers.
7. Indicate the section letter before the page number 
   (A, B, C, etc.).
8. For articles that continue to additional pages, cite only
   the first page, followed by a plus sign, leaving no 
   intervening space:

    examples: C5+, F7+
